Writing a retirement farewell speech is categorized into two types of speeches. One is when you are retiring and leaving the organization and the other category is when your colleague or someone else in your organization is retiring.
Retirement is mainly related to the age of a person when he or she crosses the age of 60. But, there are some people who retire before touching their 60s because of their ill health and various other adverse or joyful situations of life.

- Describe the most joyous moments shared with your colleague.
- Use heart felt words to describe him as a person and an employee.
- Mention few of his achievements and contributions towards the organization.
- Briefly describe the task and challenges the retired person has faced during his or her work life.
- Reflect his or her skills, talents and specialties giving some specific examples.
- Refer to some of the plans of the retired person.
- Give a handful of toast and best wishes for his future life.
